Water Distiller Machine
The 4-Liter Water Distiller Machine is a benchtop purification system that operates by boiling raw water into steam, capturing that steam, and condensing it back into a liquid state. This thermal process effectively separates pure water from dissolved solids, heavy metals, and municipal impurities.
Because it operates independently of incoming water pressure, it serves as a highly reliable point-of-use purification method for homes, dental clinics, laboratories, and offices.
Hardware Construction
The system is constructed to ensure that the water only comes into contact with food-grade materials during the heating and condensation phases.
- Boiling Chamber & Coils: The internal 4-liter tank, inner cap, condensing coil, and water inlets/outlets are manufactured entirely from Type 304 stainless steel.
- Cooling System: Utilizes aluminum fan blades within the top housing to rapidly cool the internal condensing coils.
- Collection Jug: The external collection container is made from durable, BPA-free plastic. Both the distiller opening and the jug feature wide mouths to facilitate easy manual cleaning.
Performance & Safety Capabilities
The unit features a dual-button interface, allowing the user to start and stop the distillation cycle manually without needing to unplug the machine from the wall outlet.
- Distillation Rate: Powered by a 750-watt heating element, the machine processes over 0.25 gallons per hour. It can distill up to 6 gallons of water over a 24-hour period.
- Thermal Protection: Equipped with an automatic shut-off sensor that engages when internal temperatures reach 115°C (239°F). This provides built-in dry-burning and overheat protection once the boiling chamber is empty.
Required Maintenance & Accessories
To maintain water purity and protect the lifespan of the internal heating element, routine maintenance is required. Compatible accessories and replacement components can be found in our water distillers collection.
Activated Carbon Filter Sachets
While distillation removes dissolved solids, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) with lower boiling points than water can sometimes vaporize and condense alongside the steam. The Activated Carbon Filter Sachets are placed in the dispenser nozzle to intercept the water as it drips into the jug, adsorbing residual odors and ensuring a clean taste.
Descaler Steam Cleaner
As water boils away, the impurities and hard minerals left behind will crystallize and scale onto the bottom of the stainless steel chamber. The Descaler Steam Cleaner is specifically formulated to break down this residue without leaving lingering tastes or odors.
Standard Descaling Procedure
- Wipe away any loose scale from the inside of the cooled chamber using a damp cloth.
- Fill the stainless steel chamber with enough clean water to fully submerge the scaled areas.
- Add two (2) tablespoons of the descaler cleaning crystals to the water.
- Leaving the top lid off, plug in the power cord and turn the unit on. Allow the solution to boil for 20 minutes, then turn the machine off at the wall.
- Let the water cool for 15-20 minutes. Discard the solution and rinse the interior thoroughly with clean water.
- If heavy scaling persists, repeat the process.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to distill a full tank of water?
It takes approximately 5 to 6 hours for the machine to boil, condense, and process a full 4-liter batch of drinking water.
How often should I use the descaler cleaner?
This depends heavily on the hardness of your local water supply. You should descale the machine whenever a noticeable layer of mineral crust or scale builds up on the bottom of the stainless steel boiling chamber.
Does the machine turn off by itself when it is empty?
Yes. The unit is equipped with a thermal sensor that automatically shuts the machine down when the internal temperature reaches 115°C (239°F), preventing dry-burning when all the water has evaporated.

Waterworks Water Coolers Warranty
We offer a 36-month comprehensive warranty on bottle top & POU coolers and the IC8 chiller from the date of purchase. Most transactions may not be covered by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), but all goods are warranted to the level provided by Waterworks Australia. Returns, for warranty purposes or otherwise, must be pre-approved and at our expense.
Under the ACL, consumers are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. The guarantees, rights, and remedies under the ACL vary significantly by factors such as industry standards and the nature of the product. Waterworks Australia adopts this approach for its warranty policies.
